ecobee thermostats are wifi-enabled programmable thermostats that are used in residential and small business applications. They are typically programmed manually by customers including options to respond to demand response events. This demonstration project will test the ability of thermostats to respond directly to digital pricing signals and adjust temperature setpoints based on signals that may vary more than in a simple time-of-use (TOU) rate tariff schedule or conventional demand response event.
