CalFlexHub Symposium 2024: Electric Vehicles and the Promise of Managed Charging

The CalFlexHub Symposium 2024 featured speakers from across the Hub’s ecosystem. This session will explore the potential of managed charging technologies to unlock the full promise of electric vehicles (EVs) in advancing load flexibility. Panelists are all California Energy Commission Responsive, Easy, Charging Products with Dynamic Signals (REDWDS) awardees who will discuss how their projects can help balance grid demand, optimize renewable energy usage, and reduce costs for consumers. The conversation will also cover bidirectional charging, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies, and the challenges of scaling these solutions in both residential and commercial settings. Attendees will gain insight into the innovations shaping the future of EV charging and the role it plays in a more dynamic and flexible energy system.
